Pastor Foluke Adeboye, the wife of renowned Nigerian cleric Enoch A. Adeboye, Foluke Adeboye, has revealed the sacrifice she made after becoming born again.
She said that she invested heavily in expensive gold jewelry. However, she added that when her family became born again and joined the Redeeemed Christian Church of God, gold jewelry was considered a taboo.
At this time, she said she had bought expensive jewelry even for her daughter who was less than two years old.
She discloses that she took all the expensive jewelry and “dumped them in the Lagoon.”
“Every woman loves fashion,’ she said. “By the time we became born again, it was a taboo for you to have them.”
She revealed that a family friend questioned why she didn’t just hand the valuables to her mother to sell. But she refused.
“Whatever is not good for me is not good for my mother,” she stated.
Pastor Foluke recalled briefly switching to “copper” accessories as an alternative, admitting she spent heavily on them at the time.
Despite the extreme sacrifice, she insisted she has no regrets.
“What would I say I miss? Not much, I have already sold myself,” she said.
