A man who went to rob a home in Kota, Rajasthan, ended up getting stuck in the exhaust vent while trying to enter the house.
The police arrived at the scene after being informed of the situation and they rescued the suspect before taking him into custody.
The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
The thief could be seen in the video stuck halfway through the kitchen exhaust fan shaft, with the upper half of his body inside the building and the lower hanging outside.
According to The Times of India, the culprit, identified as Pavan, is from the Digod village in Kota district.
Apparently, he wasn’t alone while attempting to rob the house. One other person – his accomplice – fled the scene after Pavan got stuck.
The police recovered a car key from the potential thief and also seized a car that is believed to have carried the two suspects around the city. The vehicle had a police sticker and white curtains.
The house where this attempted robbery took place belongs to Subhash Kumar Rawat. Rawat and his wife had left their house on Saturday, January 3, to visit the temple of Khatu Shyam.
On Sunday, Jan. 4, at around 1 am, the couple returned home and, after opening the main gate and taking their scooter inside the premises, noticed the alleged robber hanging through the kitchen exhaust vent.
Rawat immediately called the police, and they managed to extract Pavan from the vent shaft by pulling him into the kitchen.
His accomplice, who managed to escape, is being traced by the police.
