A young American artist has alleged that he was harassed by the Nigeria Police Force for the third time since arriving in the country, after sharing a live video of a confrontation with police officers in Benin City.
According to the artist, he and his team were stopped by officers while shooting a video, even though there was no visible issue with their vehicle. He also repeatedly asked why they were being stopped, but no clear explanation was given.
One of the officers however said that the police had the right to stop them, but still did not explain the reason for the intervention.
The artist described the encounter as harassment, noting that this was the third such incident he had experienced since visiting Nigeria.
