The clash said to be between the two rival cult groups  occurred in Wurukum, Walomayo Council Ward of Makurdi LGA on Wednesday, July 7, 2025.

The victims were said to have been attacked in the late hours of Wednesday, January 7, 2026, around 11:49 pm.

Those k!lled were identified as Mr Hundred, who lived opposite the Wurukum Mosque; Martins Dagba, popularly known as Wonder, who resided near Solace Hotels; and Aondoaseer Yisa, also called Poka, of Usman Street.

Reacting to the incident, the chairman of Makurdi LGA, Joseph Keffi, through his Special Adviser on Security and Political Matters, Terhide Beetseh Mark, described the k!llings as senseless and heartbreaking, while extending condolences to the bereaved families and affected communities.

He urged residents to be vigilant and report suspicious movements to security agencies, noting that community cooperation was critical to tackling criminal activities.
