A throwback video of Nollywood actress Toyosi Adesanya recounting her ordeals on her journey to motherhood surfaced following the birth of her first child.
In the interview with Biola Bayo, she revealed that she began her journey to becoming a mother in 2008, underwent a laparoscopy and a dye test.

Toyosi disclosed that she tried IVF in 2009, and it failed, and the cost was around N900k to N1 million then. She said she gathered money from her boutique and other sources, sold all her gold jewellery to pay for the IVF, but it failed. She said she waited, knowing it was a 50-50 chance.
Toyosi further disclosed that she tried again in 2011, but it failed, and she tried again in 2013. She added that she had a stressful operation before I was introduced to another set of facilities.
“I went for a laparoscopy and a dye test—that was how I started the journey in 2008. I tried IVF in 2009, and it failed. The cost was around ₦900k to ₦1 million then. That was actually the first time I heard about IVF, and I went ahead with it. I had a doctor who owned the hospital.
I had a boutique at the time, so I raised money from various sources. I even sold all my gold jewellery to do the IVF, but it failed. I waited, knowing it’s a 50-50 chance.
I tried another one in 2011, and it failed again. Then in 2013, I had a very stressful operation before I was introduced to another set of facilities”.
