Nollywood star Queen Nwokoye has opened up about why she has yet to collaborate with Funke Akindele in films.

In a recent interview with Seun Oloketuyi, the actress revealed that while Funke has extended invitations for her to join various projects, scheduling conflicts have always prevented them from working together.

Queen also shared that although Toyin Abraham first approached her in 2016 for a collaboration, they were only able to join forces this year. She explained, “My family comes first when it comes to my career. Toyin has been reaching out since 2016, but I just got to work with her this year. Funke has never done a movie without inviting me, but the timing is always off.”

The actress, who started her Nollywood journey in 2004, reflected on a difficult period in her life, losing both of her parents in 2019. She said the experience taught her to prioritize her well-being and personal life alongside her career. “I began 2019 with both my mum and dad, and within six months, I became an orphan. I still can’t believe I managed to go through two funerals in such a short time. Today, I have chosen to embrace happiness and leave the past behind. God is in control,” she shared.

Queen Nwokoye has been married to businessman Oluchi Uzoma since 2011, and the couple has three children.

She is now preparing to star in Toyin Abraham’s directorial debut, Oversabi Aunty.
