Trabzonspor have applauded Chibuike Nwaiwu’s maiden call-up to the Super Eagles for the international friendlies against Iran and Jordan, NEWSUNPLUG reports.
The centre-back was handed a late invitation by Super Eagles head coach, Éric Chelle for the injured Calvin Bassey.
Nwaiwu was part of the Super Eagles’ training session at the Bellis Delux on Thursday.
The 22-year-old is in line to make his debut for the three-time African champions in this afternoon’s fixture against Iran.
Trabzonspor send the defender their best wishes ahead of the game.
“We wish our player Chibuike Nwaiwu, who will be making his debut for the Nigerian National Team, all the best,” the Turkish Super Lig club wrote on X.
