Nigeria head coach, Éric Chelle is rooting for Olympic Marseille’s new signing, Tochukwu Nnadi to become a great hit at the club, NEWSUNPLUG reports.
Nnadi, who was courted by a number of English top clubs signed for Marseille on Monday.
Marseille signed him from Belgian Pro League side, Zulte Waregem in a deal worth €6m.
The 22-year-old was one of the surprise inclusions in Chelle’s 27-man squad to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The defensive midfielder made just one appearance for the Super Eagles in the competition.
Nnadi came in as a late substitute in Nigeria’s last group game against the Cranes of Uganda.
Despite his cameo role in Morocco, Chelle has seen enough to believe in the potential of the former Nigeria youth international.
“I thought he should have been playing in a bigger league a long time ago. He’s fast, strong, aggressive in winning the ball back, and can make a lot of interceptions,” Chelle told L’Equipe.
