Chelsea on Wednesday announced that defender Alfie Gilchrist has left the club to join Sheffield United on loan.
The Premier League west London club disclosed this in a statement on their website.
“Chelsea defender Alfie Gilchrist has joined Sheffield United on a season-long loan.
“Good luck, Alfie,” Chelsea’s statement read.
Gilchrist joined Chelsea at 11 years old.
He started last season as captain of their Under-21s and made his senior debut after coming off the bench against Crystal Palace in December.
