Transfer: Depay plans to replace Ronaldo at Man Utd as Arsenal defender leaves Emirates

Barcelona forward, Memphis Depay, reportedly wants to leave the Catalan club and rejoin Manchester United amid the ongoing transfer window.

Depay has emerged as one of several options for Man United as they look to find a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, whose contract was terminated by mutual consent.

The Netherlands international is said to want to join the Red Devils but the club only wants to take him on loan while Barcelona is hoping to recoup some money for him, according to Sport.

Meanwhile, in a related development, Arsenal defender, Brooke Norton-Cuffy, has been recalled from his loan at Rotherham United.

Norton-Cuffy immediately joined Coventry City on loan for the remainder of the season.

Arsenal disclosed this in a statement via its website on Friday.

Norton-Cuffy has played 20 times already in the Championship this season, registering two assists.

The 18-year-old spent last season on loan at Lincoln City before returning to Arsenal in the summer to sign a new contract with the Gunners.

“We wish Brooke all the best for his loan spell at Coventry City and look forward to seeing his continued development,” Arsenal’s statement read in part.

“The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.”
