Former Tottenham Hotspur player, Andros Townsend, has insisted that Chelsea’s Kai Havertz would be a good signing for Arsenal.

Townsend also urged Arsenal supporters to trust manager Mikel Arteta in bringing Havertz to Emirates.

Havertz has emerged as a potential summer sale for Chelsea, and the Germany international has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

Giving his verdict on Havertz being heavily linked with the Gunners, Townsend said, as quoted by HITC, “I think he will prove to be a good signing. Mikel Arteta did that last season. He brought in [Gabriel] Jesus, people questioned it.

“He brought in [Oleksandr] Zinchenko, people questioned it too. Now, it looks like he is going to bring in Havertz. People are questioning it… but you have to trust him on the back of what he has done so far.”
