Former Manchester United stars, Teddy Sheringham and Rio Ferdinand have reacted to Marcus Rashford joining Barcelona from the Red Devils.
Man United and Barcelona have already sealed all the documents of Rashford’s loan deal to Camp Nou.
Rashford, who took a 15% pay cut at Barcelona, landed in Spain at the weekend to undergo his Blaugrana medical.
Speaking on the development, Sheringham insisted that Rashford doesn’t deserved the move to Barcelona, while Ferdinand said the England international needs to do something different at the Catalan club.
“I hope Rashford doesn’t get the move he’s hankering for. If you’re going from Man United to Barça, that’s a step up; but he doesn’t deserve it! You can’t deserve it if you haven’t put the hard work in,” Sheringham said as quoted by The TouchlineX.
On his part, Ferdinand said: “Marcus Rashford has to go in there and do things that are different from the strikers and attacking players they already have.
“Making runs off the ball behind defenses. Be a threat in behind. Make teams take a step back when Marcus Rashford is on the pitch. Shoot, because he’s got a lethal shot with that right foot. Shift it, shoot. Don’t be one of those players who over-dribbles and complicates things.
“If Rashford manages to do all this, this deal will be a steal — a real steal!”
