Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has reacted to midfielder Granit Xhaka’s departure from the club.

Xhaka penned an emotional farewell to Arsenal fans and staff on Thursday after he completed a €25million move to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

The Switzerland international leaves the Premier League club after seven years at Emirates.

Reacting, Arteta said that Xhaka has given everything for the Gunners.

The Spaniard also wished the footballer all the best in the next step of his career.

“We are saying goodbye to a fantastic player and person loved by all of us. It has been an incredible journey together for him and he has given absolutely everything for this club,” Arteta told Arsenal’s website.

“We cannot thank Granit enough for his service and contribution to this club over the years. We wish Granit and his family all the best in the next step of their lives.”
