Latvian side, BFC Daugavpils, have announced that Nigerian striker, Joel Yakubu has joined the club on loan for the remainder of the season.

Yakubu moved to Daugavpils from Czech First Division club Slovan Liberec.

The move will help the young forward play regular first-team football.

The 20-year-old linked up Slovan Liberec from Abuja-based side Mahanaim FC in 2024.

Yakubu is yet to make an appearance for the club’s first team.

He scored once and provided four assists in 16 appearances for Liberec’s second team last season.
