Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has maintained his position among the most valuable footballers globally, despite Nigeria’s inability to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Galatasaray striker continues to be recognized as one of the premier attackers in the sport, with his market value holding steady at €75 million after another exceptional season in Turkey.

Osimhen has been instrumental for the Turkish champions since his arrival at Rams Park, showcasing an impressive goalscoring record that has solidified his reputation as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards.

The Nigerian international has netted 59 goals and provided 16 assists in 74 matches across all competitions, playing a pivotal role in Galatasaray’s recent domestic triumphs.

Despite his remarkable form at the club level, Osimhen could not assist Nigeria in securing a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as the Super Eagles were eliminated by the Democratic Republic of Congo in the African play-offs.

The striker was sidelined due to injury during the first half of the play-off match, while DR Congo ultimately secured their place at the global event after winning in a penalty shoot out.

Following the World Cup, Transfermarkt published its latest global market value update, which reflects players’ performances during the tournament and throughout the season.

Even though he missed the competition, Osimhen retained his valuation of €75 million, keeping him among the top 55 most valuable players in the world.

He is the sole player currently active in the Turkish Super Lig to be included on the list.

Alongside Osimhen, the players whose market values have remained stable include Real Madrid and Turkey star Arda Güler, as well as Juventus forward Kenan Yıldız.

Leading the updated rankings is Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal, whose valuation has risen by €20 million, bringing it to €220 million, thus making him the most valuable player in the world.

Completing the top five in the latest valuation rankings are Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé, Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, and Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham.

For Osimhen, retaining his status among the world’s most valuable footballers serves as further acknowledgment of the consistency he has demonstrated at the club level, despite the setback of not participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the Super Eagles.
