Collins has signed with the modest side on a free transfer, after leaving Sky Bet Championship club Cardiff City at the end of last season.
The 31-year-old spent three years with the Welsh club, but battled with persistent injuries.
The left-back made 43 league appearances for the Bluebirds.
Jamilu Collins is making a return to Germany after his previous spell with SC Paderborn.
The Nigerian enjoyed a five-year spell at the club helping them gained promotion to the Bundesliga.
He will wear jersey number 29 at his new club.
