Chelsea are trying to sign Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes as two Blues players, Axel Disasi and Aaron Anselmino, are set to leave Stamford Bridge before the January transfer window closes.
According to Sky Sports News, Jacquet has already made it clear he wants to move to Chelsea.
It now depends on whether Chelsea can agree a deal for Jacquet to join now or in the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Anselmino and Disasi are set to leave the Premier League west London club on loan.
The report added that loan slots may become available at Strasbourg and Rennes, respectively, for the players.
Chelsea are keen to trim their squad and, at the same time, bolster manager Liam Rosenior’s squad for the remainder of the season.
