Troops of the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, operating under Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have neutralised two terrorists and recovered weapons in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.

According to a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X on Tuesday, the operation took place following credible intelligence about a planned attack on Chanchanji community by suspected members of the Bojo group.

The troops engaged the terrorists along the Demeva–Chanchanji road, killing one while the others fled.

A follow-up pursuit led to a heavy exchange of fire along the Demeva–Gbudu axis, where the second terrorist was neutralised.

“Items recovered during the operations include a G3 rifle, 16 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a motorcycle,” Makama wrote.

Makama added that the general security situation in the area remains calm, with troops maintaining aggressive patrols to reassure residents of their safety.
