The spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, January 13, 2025 said
According to him, the incident occurred on December 23, 2025, at about 9:00 p.m., when a commercial motorcyclist was ambushed by three hoodlums while returning home.
The attackers, armed with sticks and cutlasses, reportedly lured the victim to stop, inflicted serious injuries on him, and dispossessed him of his motorcycle.
Following a report from the Agaie Police Division, detectives commenced investigations which led to the arrest of Muhammadu Adamu (21) of Bodo Village, Agaie, on December 24, and Usman Mohammed (18) of Kuchita, Agaie, on December 25.
The stolen motorcycle was recovered during the operation, alongside a blood-stained stick believed to have been used during the attack.
Police investigations revealed that the suspects acted in concert with another accomplice, identified as Badeggi, who is currently at large.
Confessional statements indicated that Muhammadu allegedly flagged down the victim with a torchlight, while Usman and the fleeing suspect launched the attack from an ambush point, inflicting severe cuts on the rider’s hand before escaping with the motorcycle.
The injured motorcyclist was said to have managed to flee the scene despite his injuries, while the suspects abandoned the blood-stained weapon during their escape.
The police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspect.
Meanwhile, the two arrested suspects have been charged to court for prosecution.
