Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has celebrated the Flying Eagles passage to the semi-final at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Peseiro also felicitated with the team for securing a place at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The Flying Eagles achieved both feats after beating the Hippos of Uganda 1-0. in their quarter-final clash at the Suez Canal Stadium, Ismailia on Thursday night.
Ibrahim Juma scored an own goal on the half hour mark to ensure victory for Ladan Bosso’s side.
“Congratulations to our Flying Eagles, who have guaranteed a spot in U20 World Cup in May, as well as being through to the semi-finals of the U20 AFCON,” Peseiro wrote in his Twitter handle.
The Flying Eagles will face winner of the quarter-final tie between Gambia and South Sudan in the semi-final on Monday.
