Former Scotland international Ally McCoist has backed Manchester City striker Erling Haaland to break Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for the most goals scored in the UEFA Champions League.

According to him, the Norway international can reach the heights if he stays injury-free in his glittering career.

Haaland has so far scored 50 goals in 49 games in the Champions League, while Ronaldo has 140 goals in 183 games.

“The fact that we are talking about Erling Haaland potentially beating Cristiano Ronaldo’s (Champions League) record is crazy,” McCoist told talkSPORT (via Tribal Football).

“I could never have seen Ronaldo’s record being beaten, ever.

“But you have to say, if he stays injury-free, he could beat that and all sorts of records.”

Haaland has been impressive for Pepe Guardiola’s side since joining the Premier League gaints from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

Bellingham said Güler didn’t deserve to be in the starting lineup: “He should have come on in the 80th minute,” and argued that most of Güler’s goals were the result of his teammates’ efforts. Güler responded with nine words to silence Bellingham, who was forced to apologize.
