Real Madrid coach, Xabi Alonso, has spoken on the attitude of superstar winger, Vinicius Junior in his squad.
There are several stories about the player being unhappy at Real Madrid especially now that he is no longer the key man following the arrival of Kylian Mbappe in the summer of 2024.
Alonso, while addressing reporters ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League clash with Juventus on Wednesday, said the Brazilian remains a very important player to the Los Blancos.
He said that it gives him joy to see the Brazil international happy and enjoying his football.
“Vinicius is crucial and decisive for us. I’m happy to see Vinicius enjoying himself, smiling,” he said.
“We talked about the impact he could have and how he could change the game.
“His day-to-day performance is good, and he responds very well in games.”
So far this season, Alonso has not always looked convinced about Vinícius, benching the Brazilian three times, including for Sunday’s LaLiga win at Getafe.
