Bayer Leverkusen manager, Kasper Hjulmand, believes Arsenal and Bayern Munich are the two favourites to win the Champions League this season.
Hjulmand was speaking at his post-match interview after Arsenal defeated Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 in the Champions League Round of 16 second-leg tie clash at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
Arsenal will now play Sporting CP in the Champions League quarter-final, while Bayern Munich have one leg in the last-8 after they thrashed Atalanta 6-1 in the Round of 16 first leg last week.
“Yeah, I think they could,” Hjulmand said at his post-match interview when asked if Arsenal can go all the way to win the Champions League this season.
“You can see in the Premier League as well, their lead, the fewest goals against them, the highest number of goals scored, so it’s not a coincidence.
“But I also think Bayern. Bayern is a very different type of game. They do it differently, Bayern, and they are a very, very high level. I would say it’s head-to-head.”
