Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone, has named Arsenal as the ‘best team’ his team has played this season following their 4-0 defeat in the hands of the Gunners in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Atletico Madrid were beaten 4-0 at the Emirates Stadium in the Champions League, scoring four goals in 13 second-half minutes.

Goals from Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Martinelli and two goals from Viktor Gyokeres capped off a brilliant night for the Gunners.

Simeone described Mikel Arteta’s side as the ‘best team’ his side have faced this season.

Simeone told Amazon Prime, “Yes, I would say the best team we have faced this season.

“They compete so well, their players run and run and they have quality all over the pitch. They deserved to win today and I want to congratulate them.”

Arsenal will now travel to Crystal Palace for their weekend Premier League clash as they hope to retain their place on the summit of the league table.
