England made history following the conclusion of this week’s Champions League Round of 16 second-leg fixtures played on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

Recall that four Premier League clubs from England were eliminated from the Champions League Round of 16 stage.

They are Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Newcastle United.

Manchester City were defeated by Real Madrid, while Chelsea lost against Paris Saint-Germain.

Newcastle United lost against Barcelona, and Tottenham was eliminated from the competition at the hands of Atletico Madrid.

However, according to OptaJoe, this is the first time in the Champions League history that four sides from a single nation have all been eliminated at the same stage of a season in the UEFA Champions League.
