Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois has admitted he messed up during their Champions League knockout game with Liverpool on Tuesday.

The Spanish giants came from two goals down to thrash Jurgen Klopp’s side 5-2 at Anfield to make the second leg at Santiago Bernabeu almost insignificant.

Liverpool were two goals up in the first half and one of the goals from Mohamed Salah came after a huge error from the Belgian.

“That second Liverpool goal was slightly bad luck that I messed it up,” Courtois, a former Chelsea goalkeeper, told reporters after the game.

“I had the ball under control and I wanted to pass it immediately but I saw that Mohamed Salah had stopped so I changed my mind and tried to move it on to my right foot but it bounced off my knee,” he added.

Liverpool will now travel to Spain to face the La Liga champions at the Bernabeu and will hope to upturn the result.
