Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has named Arsenal and Bayern Munich as the two most impressive teams in the UEFA Champions League so far this season.
He also picked the Premier League North London club as one of the four or five teams that can win the Champions League this season.
Carragher stated this on Tuesday night while fielding a question about Arsenal’s Champions League chances from CBS Sports host Kate Scott after the Gunners thrashed Atletico Madrid 4-0.Ucl: ‘look At Their Performances’ – Carragher Names Two Most Impressive Teams This Season
The Englishman said, “Right now, I think Arsenal and Bayern [Munich] are the two most impressive teams I have seen when you look at their performances domestically and what they are doing in the Champions League.
“I have said before on this show that I have never had Arsenal down as a Champions League club.
“I know that might sound obvious because they have never won it before, but I have always thought there is something about them that doesn’t connect; they have never really gone close.
“Thierry’s [Arsenal] team was the best team I ever played against in the Premier League, and even that team didn’t come close enough to winning the Champions League. It wasn’t that team that got to the Champions League final.
“I do look at this team now and see how strong they are defensively. My Liverpool team that won the Champions League was not a great team attacking-wise, but we were strong defensively.
“So, yeah, I see Arsenal as one of the four or five teams that can win this competition.”
