Former Manchester United goalkeeper, Peter Schmeichel, has said that he has never seen Bayern Munich boss, Vincent Kompany so angry after his team fell 3-1 to Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
He said the Belgian coach was ‘visibly angry and livid’ as he returned to the dressing room.
Dutch defender, Jurrien Timber put Arsenal in front on 22 minutes but Lennart Karl equalised for the visitors 10 minutes later.
After the break, substitute Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli completed a 3-1 win for the high-flying Mikel Arteta’s team.
Schmeichel was at the Emirates on punditry duty with CBS Sports and witnessed Kompany’s reaction as he returned to the dressing room after the final whistle.
“Oh my God! Literally the other side of where we are is the entrance to the dressing room. He was the first one here and he was so angry. I’ve never seen him like that.
“I can understand that because is it a free-kick or not on the first goal? We don’t know, it can be discussed. The third goal Manuel Neuer is caught in no man’s land.
“He will look at it as individual mistakes in a game he must have felt they had it under control. At 1-1 they felt like they had it under control,” he said.
The defeat ended Bayern Munich’s perfect start in the Champions League this season.
