Former England midfielder, Glenn Hoddle has backed Arsenal to qualify for the UEFA Champions League semi-final stage ahead of Bayern Munich.

Hoddle spoke ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League quarter-final first leg clash with Bayern Munich at Emirates on Tuesday night.

He said he ‘really fancies’ the Premier League North London club to progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League at the expense of Thomas Tuchel’s side.

When asked to pick the team to advance in the Champions League semi-final stage, Hoddle told TNT Sports: “I do fancy their [Arsenal’s] chances.

“I have watched Bayern Munich quite a bit this season and they are not functioning anywhere near where they should be.

“Harry Kane is a danger, of course, and wouldn’t it be ironic if that boy knocked Arsenal out.

“But over two legs I really fancy Arsenal, I think they will go through. I fancy them against Bayern Munich.”
