Bayern Munich manager, Vincent Kompany, has said his team lost their momentum in the second half of their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in the Champions league on Wednesday night.

The Bundesliga champions came into the game unbeaten in the competition and looking to extend their perfect start.

Although Jurrien Timber headed the Gunners in front, Lennart Karl finished off a fine move to bring Bayern level.

But Arsenal scored twice in the second half through Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli.

“I thought we didn’t have a bad start in the first half, but then conceded from a set piece,” Kompany explained.

“Even so, we got the momentum back and equalized.

“At half time, my feeling was that we could win the game if we keep it up. But we didn’t find our rhythm in the second half.

“Meanwhile, Arsenal managed to decide the game. They had a very good game management and used the small moments to their favour.

“I won’t look for excuses. We have to say that Arsenal were better. That’s all.”
