Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, has revealed why he took Alexander Isak off at half time of their 5-1 win over Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Isak started the game alongside Hugo Ekitike in attack.
But the Reds’ £125million record signing was substituted during the break.
After the game, Slot told reporters that Isak had “felt his groin” during the game.
Slot said: “He (Isak) had to go off at half time because he felt his groin a little bit, so that’s a pity.
“But I’ve said it many times, it’s such a difficult balance to find with a player that missed out three months.
“So let’s hope for the best but it’s not the easiest balance to find if the player’s been out for so long.”
Isak is now unlikely to be fit for this weekend’s Premier League trip to Brentford, as Liverpool seek to end a three-game losing run.
