Atalanta winger, Ademola Lookman, has become the first African footballer to score more than two goals in the final of a major UEFA competition.

He also became the third Nigerian player to score in the final of a major UEFA competition, after Alex Iwobi (2019 Europa League) and Joe Aribo (2022 Europa League).

Lookman grabbed his brace within the opening 25 minutes of Wednesday’s Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen.

The Super Eagles star opened the scoring in the 10th minute, reacting quickest in the box to Zappacosta’s low cross.

His second was a sublime curling effort into the bottom corner.

Lookman then scored the third in the second half, to end Leverkusen’s dream of winning the treble unbeaten this season.
