Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has responded to the question on David De Gea’s future at Old Trafford.

De Gea’s mistakes led to Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat to Sevilla in the second leg of the quarter-final of the Europa League on Thursday evening.

De Gea had a night to forget after contributing to all three goals scored by the Spanish side.

Many pundits believe that Ten Hag would be looking for another goalkeeper with better feet as it appears the 32-year-old is finding it difficult playing from the back.

De Gea’s contract would be running out at the end of the season and there are calls for the former Spain International to be replaced.

However, after the defeat last night, Ten Hag was asked if De Gea is United’s long-term goalkeeper.

The Dutchman said, “He is the one with the most clean sheets in the Premier League.

“So it shows he’s a very capable goalkeeper.”
