Barcelona defender, Ronald Araujo has hit out at Manchester United winger, Alejandro Garnacho’s behaviour after the Red Devils’ UEFA Europa League win over the La Liga leaders.

Man United recently eliminated Barcelona from the Europa League following a thrilling play-off round tie.

The Premier League giants qualified for the next round of the Europa League after beating Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate.

Garnacho came off the bench in the second half and was a constant menace down the left flank, but his actions after the match caused a stir.

The 18-year-old made a ‘binoculars’ gesture with his hands which appeared to mock Pedri’s trademark celebration after the final whistle.

Garnacho later uploaded a picture of the gesture to Instagram alongside the caption, “The big team advanced to the next round” – a remark that did not go down well in Spain.

However, Araujo has now hit out at Garnacho over his antics and suggested the Spanish-born Argentine has a long way to go in the game, adding that he should be more humble.

Asked if he was upset by Garnacho’s behaviour, Araujo told Infobae: “Yes. Everyone expresses what they want, but it was not the time to post that.

“I respect everyone, and I think humility is important, but I prefer to respond on the field.

“He is still young, has a long way to go. I think you have to be humble.”
