Social media commentator Verydarkman has publicly clarified his role in the recent arrest of activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who is currently being scrutinized following accusations of ransom theft by the family of a kidnapped Edo couple.
Addressing claims that he reported Gwamnishu out of jealousy, Verydarkman stated that he initiated the call to authorities after watching a video where Gwamnishu dismissed the possibility of wrongdoing, claiming the police would have been involved if he were guilty.
Verydarkman explained his history with the activist: “I’ve known Harrison for a long time. Harrison has a problem but he’s a good guy. The solution is that he needs cleansing. Because anytime he is going up, bad things happen and he comes down again. And it’s is always money related.”
He then detailed his decisive action, which he felt was provoked by Gwamnishu’s own words:
“I guess that people think Verydarkman is jealous because I initiated the call. I did that because when I watched the video he said something like ‘they would have reported to the police if he did anything wrong.’ I was gaslighted because I know what I know, so I called the police and reported that they should pick him up. If he’s the one saying the truth they should release him. But guess what, they haven’t released him because he’s not the one saying the truth.”
Verydarkman concluded that Gwamnishu’s continued detention by authorities indicates that the financial claims against him may have substance.
