Vigilante arrests member of kidnap gang terrorizing communities in Kogi

The Kogi State Vigilante Service has arrested a suspected member of a notorious kidnap gang terrorizing communities in the Kaba/Bunu Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesperson of the service, S.O Saka, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday said the suspect was apprehended along Offere Road by operatives of Kabba/Bunu Command on Sunday, October 27, 2024.

Following an interrogation, it was revealed that the individual is believed to be part of a group responsible for recent kidnappings terrorizing local communities.

During the arrest, authorities recovered two cartridges, various hard drugs, and other suspicious items from the suspect.

The suspect has been handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS) for further interrogation and investigation.

Meanwhile, community leaders have expressed relief at the arrest and called for continued vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement to ensure the safety of residents.
