Similoluwa, the beautiful daughter of Nollywood actress Laide Bakare, has got many people online questioning her real age.
According to Newsunplug, the actress’s daughter recently clocked 17. To mark the milestone, Laide Bakare hosted a lavish birthday party on Sunday, September 7th, at the prestigious Oriental Hotel, Lagos.
The star-studded event was graced by celebrities such as Biola Bayo and Ayo Olaiya, who joined family and friends to celebrate Similoluwa’s big day.
A video from the party is making rounds online, which has left netizens talking. In the clip, Simi is seen dancing as her friends serenade her in a circle.
Her grown-up look at her party has made many social media users doubt her age.

Age has always been a hot topic in the entertainment industry, and last year was no different. Several Nollywood stars and reality TV personalities found themselves dragged into age-related drama.
Actress Uche Ogbodo had a heated exchange with a troll who doubted she was really 38. The troll even suggested she should come clean to her husband about her “true age.” Disgusted by the claim, Uche shut it down by sharing her passport bio-data and reminding critics that while they were still sleeping, she had already made a name for herself.
Also last year, actress Nkechi Blessing marked her 35th birthday with a clapback for those accusing her of age reduction. She told them to keep “choking” on her age while shading them for being stagnant in life.
Similarly, Caroline Danjuma sparked controversy after claiming she was turning 35. Social media users dragged her, but she hit back, calling them “unintelligent.” Caroline even posted photos of her youthful mother, who she said was in her 50s, and challenged anyone doubting her to check her certificates.
Reality star and BBNaija winner, Mercy Eke, also faced backlash when her real age was revealed. Unbothered, she sarcastically addressed the situation in a troll exchange where she admitted her actual age. Her sister, Sweery Eke, later came to her defense, sharing a screenshot of Mercy’s birth certificate while blasting critics.
On the other hand, veteran actress Monalisa Chinda took a different approach. Without joining the drama, she threw subtle shade at age falsifiers, proudly declaring that she embraces her age and the beauty of growing older.
