Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has described Real Madrid as the best team in the world.
He was reacting to Los Blancos’ dominance in the Spanish top flight, claiming that the only way Atleti could win La Liga was if Real Madrid slipped up.
“We can be champions when Real Madrid fail. They are the best team in the world and will continue to be,” he told a press conference.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side has had a brilliant season, winning the La Liga title and will be up against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final on Saturday.
Real Madrid endured a strong initial run from high-flying Girona and Barcelona but managed to stay on top of the table.
