Nollywood actor Gideon Okeke has spoken out about the difference in the treatment of musicians and actors.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, he pointed out the imbalance in how Nigerian creatives support each other, especially between the music and film industries.
He noted that Nigerian musicians are widely celebrated, idolised, and promoted globally, while Nollywood actors, actresses, and filmmakers rarely receive the same level of public support.
Gideon further pointed out that Nigerian artists proudly embrace labels like ‘big three’ and ‘big five’, but very few of them recommend or hype films, actors, or producers, even as platforms like Netflix expose Nollywood to global audiences.
