Nollywood actor Prince Eke has weighed in on the life sentence given to IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, saying the verdict falls short of true justice.
His reaction came after Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja found Kanu guilty on all seven charges filed against him by the Federal Government. The ruling, which imposed several life terms along with additional years of imprisonment, has stirred strong reactions nationwide.
Sharing his view on Instagram on Friday, Eke argued that the sentence is driven more by political strategy than legal reasoning. He claimed that the government is positioning 2027 as the “real agenda.”
According to him, “MNK’s life sentence is nothing but political theatre. The plan is to free him in 2027 and use that move to secure Igbo votes. This isn’t justice it’s manipulation. Nigerians are paying attention. We see the plan, and we’re not buying it.”
Eke noted that many citizens are now more politically conscious and can tell when national decisions are influenced by political motives rather than fairness.
He stressed that justice must stand on its own and should never be used as leverage during elections.
His comments add to the growing reactions from celebrities and Nigerians responding to Kanu’s imprisonment.
