Captain of the Super Eagles, William Troost-Ekong has opened up on the attitude of Ademola Lookman in the team’s camp ahead of their World Cup qualifiers following his failed move to Inter Milan.

Ekong said that the Atalanta forward is in high spirits ahead of the matches on Saturday and on Tuesday.

Lookman suffered frustration during the transfer window following his club’s refusal to allow him join the Serie A giants.

However, Ekong said the forward remains highly motivated despite the challenges.

Nigeria will play Rwanda in a crucial World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

“The summer transfer window is always particular when you have a team full of talented players like we always do in Nigeria,” Ekong said during the prematch press conference on Friday

“I think all of us have really followed and supported him[Lookman]. The coach said he’s the best player in Africa.

“With what I have seen these days, he’s even more motivated.”

A win over Rwanda in Oyo on Saturday will at least boost the already slim chance of the Super Eagles making it to the next World Cup.

The team will be banking on Lookman’s consistency with the national team, hoping he is in the right frame of mind for the crucial encounter.
