The 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League season is heating up, and Gameweek 4 looks set to be a crucial one for managers as most of them might use their free chips after a disappointing start to the season.
With three gameweeks in the books, early patterns are beginning to emerge some premiums are struggling to justify their price tags, while budget gems and surprise differentials are staking a claim in squads. The question is: do you trust the process or make bold changes before the first international break?
FPL gameweek 4 has some interesting fixtures with the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as Nottingham Forest’s new manager it will be interesting to see how he sets up his team against Arsenal in the early kickoff on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Chelsea will be playing their fourth consecutive London derby when they face Brentford on the last game of the same day.
However, the major fixture of this weekend is the Manchester derby as Old Trafford welcomes Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City squad for a thrilling encounter. FPL managers will also be on the lookout for Liverpool’s new signing Alexander Isak when Liverpool travel to face Burnley.
Here are five (5) FPL players you must have going into Game week 4
(1) Jack Grealish ( Everton)
Jack Grealish is the most transferred-in player ahead of Gameweek 4, with nearly a million FPL managers bringing in the Englishman. This is because of his impressive form so far having recorded 4 assists in his last 2 games for the Toffees.
(2) Jean-Phillipe Mateta ( Crystal Palace)
The Crystal Palace forward has had a slow start to this season, not living up to the standard that he ended with. However, he got a goal against Aston Villa before the half-time break, which will be good for his confidence going into the games against Sunderland and West Ham United.
(3) Alexander Isak ( Liverpool)
The Sweden international is expected to feature against Burnley, and he has been backed to score following his form from last season. Isak scored on his debut game for Newcastle United so I expect him to do the same against Burnley and in the coming games.
(4) Jaoa Pedro ( Chelsea)
The Chelsea forward has started his life at Stamford Bridge on a good note as he has been involved in the Blues’ victory against West Ham United and Fulham.
(5) Mohamed Salah ( Liverpool)
The Egyptian King is the most expensive FPL player this season, however, he has always returned either with a goal or an assist for the past couple of seasons. The game against Burnley fits the winger and his owners should expect returns from him.
