Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, side Wikki Tourists have backed defender Haruna Aliyu to succeed with the Flying Eagles at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
Aliyu was selected as a replacement for the injured Marvelous Freedom in the Flying Eagles squad.
Freedom was ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury he sustained during training this week.
Wikki Tourists expressed confidence that Aliyu will represent the nation with distinction.
“We are confident that Haruna will represent the nation with distinction and make Wikki Tourists, Bauchi State, and the entire country proud,” the Bauchi Elephants stated in a statement.
The FIFA U-20 World Cup will commence on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
The Flying Eagles will start their campaign against Norway next Monday.
Colombia and Saudi Arabia are the other countries in the group.
