There are now 16 places left to complete the line-up at the 2026 World Cup.

This follows another intense round of qualifying matches that have seen African heavyweights like Nigeria and Cameroon.

The two West African nations saw their dreams end during the CAF playoffs in Morocco.

They miss out on the two playoff spots that will be determined at an intercontinental tournament in March 2026.

The other spots left to be filled up include CONCACAF (3) and UEFA (11).

Countries who are already confirmed to be next year’s tournament include:

Host nations: The United States, Canada and Mexico.

Asia: Uzbekistan, Australia, Iran, Japan, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and South Korea.

Africa: Algeria, Cape Verde, Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia

Europe: Norway, France, Portugal, Croatia and England.

Oceania: New Zealand.

South America: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay.
