Terem Moffi could not hide his excitement after scoring a wonder goal in OGC Nice’s 2-2 draw against Swiss club, Basel in the UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-final first leg tie on Thursday night.
Moffi bagged a brace in the thrilling encounter, but his second goal got the entire world talking.
The Nigeria international beat the opposing goalkeeper with an incredible overhead kick late in the first half.
The breathtaking strike is already nominated for the Goal of the Week award.
“It was a special goal, a special moment. I would never have imagined scoring such a goal,” Moffi told Canal+.
“Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing. I saw the ball coming and I tried. The goal of the year? Maybe not, but maybe the goal of the competition.”
The striker, who linked up with Nice from another Ligue 1 club, Lorient, in January, has scored three goals in three appearances for Les Aiglons in the UEFA Europa Conference League this season.
