Businessman, Ayiri Emami, has revealed that the 200-level student of the Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) in Oyo State, identified as Alex Timileyin, who was allegedly beaten to death by a group of students for allegedly stealing a mobile phone, is a princess in Uvwie and Warri kingdoms in Delta state.

LIB had earlier reported that the late Timileyin was beaten to his death in his hostel known as Shepherd Inn on the school premises on Saturday, May 25, 2024. A video sighted by LIB showed the deceased rolling on the floor while other students were beating him with sticks. The school authorities have since expelled the indicted students and handed them over to the police. Read here.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation with many calling for the prosecution of the students.

In a video he recorded on Sunday, Ayiri mentioned that the deceased is a Prince in both Uvwie and Warri kingdom and called on the Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, to ensure that the matter is not swept under the carpet.

Investigations show that the Late Timileyi was the son of Princess Antonia Emiko, daughter of Olu Erejuwa II (1951-1986), and an aunt of the current Olu of Warri. He was also a first cousin of His Majesty, Ogíamè Atuwatsé III CFR, the Olú of Warri Kingdom.
