A Nigerian man who went viral in 2022 after receiving what social media users dubbed a “bombastic side eye” from celebrity nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest has resurfaced online, this time with new accusations against the businessman.

In a video making the rounds on social media, the young man alleged that his life took a negative turn after Cubana Chief Priest gifted him ₦500,000 following the viral incident. He claimed the money affected his destiny, insisting that things have not gone well for him since then.

The man initially gained online attention in 2022 when a brief clip captured Cubana Chief Priest giving him a look that many viewers interpreted as dismissive. The moment quickly exploded across social media, spawning memes, jokes, and widespread debate.

Amid the buzz, Cubana Chief Priest later surprised the public by sending the young man ₦500,000, a move that attracted praise and goodwill at the time.

However, in 2023, the beneficiary admitted publicly that he had spent the money recklessly, a revelation that again stirred mixed reactions online.

Now in 2025, the man has returned with a different perspective. In an emotionally charged video, he claimed that receiving the money marked the beginning of his struggles, suggesting that it may have had a spiritual impact on his life.

He appealed to the businessman to provide his bank details so he could return the funds, saying he wanted to “recover his glory.” He also clarified that contrary to online claims, he only received ₦500,000 and not millions of naira.

The young man further threatened to take legal action, stating that the viral video still causes him pain and that he is prepared to pursue the matter in court if necessary.

His comments appear to reflect unresolved emotional distress connected to the viral moment that first pushed him into the public spotlight.

@Sholzzola:”I don’t even understand what going. It’s now this thought came to his mind after he’s spent all the money.”

@kaymicky007:”No need to stress. Go him club order for drinks wey reach 500k. Once u pay tell dem to return d drinks say u no need am again den u waka comot d club. The account u r paying into is definitely his account so don’t come to social media to make post like dis”

@Airbooka:”Once I see someone make a video about something they could send directly to the person, I already know it’s clout-chasing. What baffles me is that these guys always do it with folks far more influential than them forgetting that they live in a lawless country and can be locked away without due process.”
