Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville, believes Manchester City’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final is a huge blow to them in the Premier League title race.

Nico O’Reilly scored two headers in the second half to secure the first piece of silverware for this season.

This ends Arsenal’s hopes of landing four trophies; however, they remain favourite to win the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta’s men currently sit nine points clear of City on the league table, although they have played one more fixture.

“The impact that might have… Manchester City needed something to lift them and they’ve just got it,” Neville said on Sky Sports.

“Arsenal need to recover but Pep Guardiola will be so proud because his team have delivered. They’ve got time to recover, Arsenal, but Mikel has a big job on his hands now.”
