Actress Dayo Amusa engaged in a heated online dispute with several X users on Thursday, June 4, following her defense of entertainers who continue to promote their work amidst national insecurity campaigns.

The controversy began when Amusa urged Nigerians to stop criticizing filmmakers and actors for advertising their movies online. She explained that entertainers often secure bank loans to fund their projects and are financially obligated to promote them upon completion. Amusa pointed out the hypocrisy of critics who perform their own daily job duties while demanding that celebrities halt their businesses to post about kidnappings or criticize the government. [1]

Amusa further stated that she would not tolerate cyberbullying, asserting her right to use her platform to promote her business and interests.

The statement sparked immediate backlash. Users accused her of shielding the current administration and failing to confront the government over the country’s worsening security cris
