Nigerian actress and on-air personality, Simidrey, has called out an airline after what she described as a distressing travel ordeal that left her stranded in South Africa for over 24 hours.Nigerian Travel Packages
According to her account, she had a fully paid and confirmed business class ticket but was repeatedly denied boarding due to what she said was the airline’s internal error. Despite her ticket reflecting as valid in the airline’s system, she was allegedly told her name was missing on the operating airline’s manifest.
She explained that she was placed on multiple waitlists and standby flights, none of which she was allowed to board. The situation reportedly escalated when she was later informed that there was a single available seat on the next flight — but only in economy — and only if she agreed to classify it as a “voluntary downgrade” and waive her right to compensation.
Simidrey described the demand as coercive, stressing that she paid for business class and was being pressured to give up her rights simply to get home after prolonged delays caused by the airline.
Adding to the emotional weight of the situation, the actress revealed she is a breastfeeding mother trying to return to her baby, noting that the experience has been physically exhausting and emotionally draining.
In an emotional video shared online, she called for urgent intervention and accountability, saying the treatment she received goes beyond inconvenience and reflects a troubling lack of transparency, care, and responsibility.
